I know, I know… I hear it all the time. “Stretching hurts”, “I don’t have time”, “it’s boring”…. well let me tell you something.. GET OVER IT! You must stretch. Even if you only take 5 minutes after your workout, that is better then nothing. If you continually avoid stretching, your muscles will just get tighter and tighter, in turn, pulling on their respective joints, throwing your body out of alignment and then eventually causing injury because your poor body is working double time trying to compensate.
So check out this informational flyer I wrote and posted around my gym. It gives good reasons as to why you should stretch and some basic stretches to implement into your workout routine.
I promise you’ll feel better once the stretching is over, so go ahead! Reach towards those toes!
